If you are thinking of heading down to the Aussie ski fields this Winter, listen up – have I got a treat for you.
On a recent weekend jaunt in the country I was lucky enough to be introduced to Cooma’s best kept secret – a cafe called The Lott.
Now I don’t want your expectations to get out of control but lets just say that I’ve found a cafe that combines the best of laid back country hospitality, pricing and local produce with city quality standards and creativity. If only Cooma was a little closer to Sydney.
loved
the classic cafe menus with some interesting twists
the city quality with country prices
the warm, country service
the coffee – beautifully balanced and roasted by locals www.snowymountainscoffee.com.au
the potato rosti
the rustic country decor
the big open windows and lovely natural light
didn’t love
crunchy roasted tomatoes
that it’s so far away from Sydney
ate
the breaky sandwich – turkish bread with fried free range egg, bacon, avocado, potato rosti and homemade BBQ sauce
the vego delight – homemade potato rosti with baby spinach, roast tomato, parmesan cheese and aioli
drank
flat white
irish breakfast tea
value
excellent – $30 for 2.
reservations
none taken
perfect for
breakfast or lunch on the way to the snow

Jules, I totally agree on your review of The Lott Cafe. It’s the best kept secret in Cooma (and the Snowy Mountains) – what on earth are you doing down in Cooma before the ski season? Alan
