It’s been years since I last visited Otto – a night I still remember when a group of mates got together for a decadent and very civilised New Year Eve dinner. Fabulous food, table-side fireworks and a short stroll home. Still one of the best New Years ever. But I digress, Otto now has a new chef and new owners but the location is just as fabulous and the food is, dare I say it, better than ever.
loved
the pasta (!)
especially the beetroot ravioli – one of the prettiest dishes I’ve ever eaten
the ambiance – sitting out on the wharf with a view of the city
the apple & rhubarb tart – perfect melt-in-the-mouth pastry
that they have a vegan menu available
the table lamps with adjustable settings to overcome the age old problem of having perfect ambient lighting and being able to see the menu
didn’t love
that there wasn’t more of the sour cream icecream
ate
bread with olio
beetroot ravioli with goats curd, pistachio & horseradish
pappardelle with venison ragu & cranberries
burrata agnolotti with smoked eggplant puree & roast cherry tomatoes
sauteed spinach with garlic & chilli oil
apple & rhubarb tart with sour cream icecream
drank
Proscecco
Coopers Green
Heathcote Shiraz
Sauternes
Herbal Tea
value
