It was only back in February that I first wrote about my favourite tapas joint in Sydney. But you see I did have the best intentions of writing about the new venture from the Bodega boys, but alas it isn’t opening until August or so.
And so I found myself back at the original which remains my pick as best tapas in the harbour city. I figures if it’s good enough to keep going back, it’s good enough to keep writing about.
loved
the open kitchen & communal tables
the service & the smooth way they handled my dining partner’s list of allergies
the anchovies – little flavour bursts
the empanadas – like the best ever pastie
the tamales – filling but so delicious
the wine list – great selection of spanish & south american treats
didn’t love
getting a parking fine – a good lesson in putting money in the meter
ate
marinated anchovies
jamon serrano
beef empanadas with salsa cirillo
corn tamales with black beans and avocado salsa
roast pumpkin salad with jerusalem artichokes & harissa
drank
argentinian malbec
chamomile tea
value
OK $70 for 2
reservations
no taken but you can wait in the bar
perfect for
a casual girly catchup
